GigFunder.com Privacy Policy

GigFunder (“GigFunder,” “we,” or “us”) respect your right to privacy.

We will not give your name or personal information to third parties.

PayPal processes all of the transactions on GigFunder. No one sees your credit card information besides PayPal, not even us.

This Privacy Policy explains what information of yours will be collected by GigFunder when you use gigfunder.com and related services (the "Service"), how the information will be used, and how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of information. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Email

We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us.

We will send you email relating to your personal transactions. We will keep these emails to a minimum.

You will also receive certain email notifications (forwarded messages, etc.), for which you may opt-out.

We may send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so.

Artists receive the email addresses of their Fans if, and only if, the Campaign is successfully funded.

Technology / Security

GigFunder uses cookies to help (anonymously) recognize you as a repeat visitor and to track traffic patterns on our site. We use this information to make GigFunder more user-friendly.

GigFunder may employ clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), which are used to track the online usage patterns of our users anonymously. No personally identifiable information from your GigFunder account is collected using these clear gifs. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened by recipients. The information is used to enable more accurate reporting, improve the effectiveness of our marketing, and make GigFunder better for our users.

GigFunder may obtain IP addresses from users. We will use this information to monitor and prevent fraud, diagnose problems, and (anonymously) estimate demographic information.

We use a variety of security measures, including encryption and authentication tools, to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information. Your personal information is stored behind firewalls and is only accessible by a limited number of people who are required to keep the information confidential.

Regardless of these efforts by us, no data transmission over the public Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Voluntary Disclosure

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service (for instance, in Campaigns or other User Content you post) becomes available to the public. If you remove User Content, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored your User Content.

Artists

By entering into our User Agreement, GigFunder Artists agree to not abuse other users' personal information. Abuse is defined as using personal information for any purpose other than those explicitly specified in the Artist’s Campaign, or is not related to fulfilling delivery of a product or service explicitly specified in the Artists’s Campaign.

GigFunder Artists never receive Fans' credit card information.

Third-Party Sponsors

From time-to-time, GigFunder may allow other companies, called third-parties or third-party ad servers, to serve advertisements on the Site. These advertisements are picked by us in order to provide you with benefits and easier booking for tours. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on GigFunder. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content.

GigFunder will not provide any personally identifiable information to any third-parties without your consent. However, please note that if an advertiser asks GigFunder to show an advertisement to a certain audience and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-parties. The GigFunder Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such advertisers.

Links to Other Web Sites

GigFunder is not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site nor the information or content contained therein. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Site to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including those that have a link on our Site, is subject to that website's own rules and policies. Please read over those rules and policies before proceeding.

Modification

GigFunder reserves the right to update this privacy policy at anytime. Updates to our privacy policy will be sent to the email address that you have provided us or posted prominently on the website.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws (such as U.S. Copyright Law).

To modify or delete any or all of the personal information you have provided to us, please log in and update your profile.

People under 18 are not permitted to use GigFunder on their own, and so this privacy policy makes no provision for their use of the site.
